Paradise Country | Family-Friendly Australian Farm & Zoo on the Gold Coast
For many travelers, one of the biggest impressions of Australia is its unique wildlife—with kangaroos and koalas being the ultimate icons. Paradise Country is a fun, entertainment-focused farm and animal park that lets visitors get up close to classic Australian wildlife while experiencing authentic Aussie rural heritage!
In this post, I will break down everything you need to know about Paradise Country, including transportation, admission tickets, area highlights, and tips for visiting, helping you make the most of this family-friendly destination!
(Compared to other Gold Coast attractions, Paradise Country is somewhat tricky to reach by public transport. You cannot take public transit straight to the front gate; at best, you would take the TX7 bus from Helensvale train station to Warner Bros. Movie World and then walk about 25 minutes along the road. Therefore, I strongly recommend driving by car, which takes only about 30 minutes from downtown Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise.)
1. Paradise Country Tickets & Multi-Park Passes
On the official Paradise Country website, single admission tickets cost around AUD 49 for adults and AUD 39 for children (ages 3–13). If you want to save money, booking through travel platforms like KKday or Klook often offers discounted rates lower than the official gate price.
Furthermore, because the Gold Coast is home to several major theme park attractions, the operators offer brilliant multi-park combo passes that grant unlimited entry within a set number of days to Paradise Country, Movie World, Sea World, and Wet'n'Wild. These come in 7-day, 14-day, and longer versions, priced roughly between AUD 200 and AUD 220. Given that a single admission to each of the other three major theme parks costs around AUD 110, visiting just two parks already pays for the entire pass and saves you over a hundred Australian dollars. If you already plan on hitting those parks, this combo pass is hands-down the best-value ticket option!
(The price difference between the 7-day and 14-day pass is only about AUD 20. As long as you plan on visiting multiple parks, it is remarkably cost-effective. Pick the pass that best fits your Gold Coast travel duration.)
2. How to Explore Paradise Country
Paradise Country is not overly massive; about 3 to 4 hours or a relaxed half-day visit is plenty of time to see everything. The park is broadly divided into four main sections: the Wildlife Enclosure, the Farm Show Arena, the Central Village Area, and the Horse Arena. The rest of the grounds feature small children's play areas and farmstay/glamping grounds less frequented by day-trippers. Let us take a closer look at each core area and its highlights!
(Paradise Country has a large, free parking lot. If you drive yourself, after parking you follow a scenic path leading directly to the ticketing entry center, which takes about a 5-minute walk.)
(Here is the ticketing center near the main entrance. When I visited, it happened to be Lunar New Year, and Paradise Country had put up festive decorations to celebrate the holiday with visitors.)
(Wayfinding signs inside Paradise Country are clear and easy to follow. You can also pick up a physical park map and daily show schedule right at the entrance.)
1. Wildlife Enclosure
(Much like other Australian animal sanctuaries—such as nearby Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary—the layout here is rustic and open, granting animals ample room to roam freely while allowing guests close, natural interactions.)
(In this zone, you will find the Wildlife Photo Centre where visitors can take professional souvenir photos holding or posing with koalas, dingoes, snakes, and more, though this requires an extra fee of around AUD 25.)
(The ultimate laid-back Aussie attitude! Haha!)
(Beyond the larger native animals, there is also an adorable farmyard nursery with smaller animals where complimentary feeding sessions are held at scheduled times!)
2. Farm Show Arena
(Getting ready to watch the Sheep Shearing Show at Paradise Country. There is plenty of grandstand seating, but it still fills up quickly, so arriving a few minutes early is well advised.)
(The presenters introduce various sheep breeds raised across Australia. In recent years, Paradise Country has collaborated frequently with animation IPs, so popular characters often make appearances to join the fun—something young children absolutely adore.)
(Audience volunteers are regularly invited up to participate, making the shows lively, humorous, and thoroughly entertaining!)
3. Horse Arena & Australian Heritage
(The Stockman and equestrian horsemanship demonstration is another signature show, featuring riders putting magnificent stock horses through their paces with precision maneuvers.)
(This arena also hosts the wildly popular sheepdog trial, where intelligent working dogs herd sheep into pens on cue—a crowd favorite for kids. You will also see demonstrations of Aboriginal boomerangs, providing rich insight into Australia's cultural history!)
(Around the campfire setting, presenters share fascinating stories about early Australian pioneering history and bush life. Another big highlight is the traditional Billy Tea and damper demonstration, which even includes a free tea tasting—it has a very distinctive smoky flavor!)
(While the outdoor grounds of Paradise Country are easy to stroll through, the main drawback is that shaded areas are somewhat limited. If visiting during summer, make sure to bring plenty of sun protection!)
4. Central Village & Dining
(In the center of the park lies the Farmhouse Restaurant. If you purchased a ticket package that includes lunch, this is where you will dine. While there is a good amount of seating, it gets very busy around lunchtime, so securing a table early is recommended.)
(For travelers holding multi-park passes, you can take a free shuttle bus from Paradise Country over to neighboring Warner Bros. Movie World, though please note it does not run in reverse from Movie World to Paradise Country. Because both attractions are right next to each other, an ideal itinerary is to visit Paradise Country first in the morning, then shuttle over to Movie World for the afternoon!)
That concludes my guide to Paradise Country! It is a wonderful destination suitable for all ages. While frequently grouped together with high-thrill theme parks, it has no rollercoasters or intense rides; instead, it shines as an interactive, show-centered farm sanctuary. Admission is also noticeably more affordable than most other commercial wildlife parks in Australia. If you are searching for a wholesome, family-friendly outing on the Gold Coast, definitely give it a visit!
